The Crane Operator/Bosun/AB shall carry out operations of ship’s Mechanical Lifting Equipment as instructed by authorized supervisor in accordance with International standards laid down in IMO’s rules and legislations and based on experienced seaman-ship (STCW 95) The Crane Operator/Bosun/AB shall carry out Repair & Planned Maintenance work of all lifting gear and –appliances as instructed by Authorized Officer.

In addition to this job description shall Crane Operator familiarize themselves with job description for AB and Bosun.

Administration

* Inform supervisor about spare parts consumed and new requirements of supplies

* Keep the Crane Log Book updated

* Inform Chief Officer and/or Chief Engineer of any special conditions regarding mechanical lifting operations or Repair/ maintenance matters

Operation

Maintenance

* Carry out the routine maintenance work as scheduled in Planned Maintenance Program

* Unplanned tasks (repairs etc.) to be carried out as instructed and found necessary

* Any irregularities and deficiencies found to be reported to your supervisor

* Use of Chemicals: Inform the users and follow carefully MDSS for relevant chemical

HSEQ

* HSEQ system: Comply fully the requirements in the Company’s HSEQ system and national as well as international rules and legislations and other precautions currently valid on board

* Drills: Participate as required in vessel drills

* HSEQ Activities: Actively take part in HSEQ meetings and programs, Non-conformities reporting etc.

Personal

* Certificates: Ensure STCW required certificates, HSE certificates, annual medical, required vaccination and other applicable and Company required certificates are valid at all time.

* HSEQ & Maritime Courses and seminars: Attend as required by the Company

Emergency procedure

Duty according to mustering list and emergency plan.
