Qualifications And Experience: preferably have two years of experience as bridge duty officer.

Reporting To The Position: -
In port: Duty according to plan and checklists approved by the Master.
* Supervision of deck crew on same watch in co-operation with Chief Mate.
* Responsible navigator for sea-watches.
* Carry out 3rd officer’s duties in line with International standards laid down in IMO’s rules and legislations and according to “Good seamanship”.
* Good maintenance, housekeeping, orderliness and cleanliness on the bridge.
Administration
* Assist in correction of nautical charts and publications to the latest “Notice to Mariners”.
* Maintain all Day signals and flags.
* Monitor weather forecasts, navigational warnings and distress messages daily.
* Responsible for administration, recording and check of all fire extinguishing, lifesaving and rescue equipment, including maintenance and controls according to laws and regulations.
* Administrative authority.
Operation
* Assist the OOW to sail the ship safely and according to sailing plan.
* During the watch to keep logbook in an orderly, tidy way according to instructions for log keeping. Enter a record of vessel’s speed, fuel consumption, weather conditions etc.
* During DP operations: According to DP operation and Standing Orders.
* Ensure that the vessel is equipped with latest updated Nautical Charts and Publications, and that the necessary Charts and Publication corrections are carried out for the area of voyage or seismic work. Maintain a Chart and Publication indexes.
* Responsible for checking the Safety Equipment onboard. The Firefighting and Lifesaving equipment shall be thoroughly checked in accordance with the computerized maintenance system. The condition shall be noted and any discrepancy shall be passed over to the Chief Officer for rectifying without delay.
HSEQ
* HSEQ system: Comply fully the requirements in the Company’s HSEQ system, national as well as internationals rules and legislation’s and other precautions currently valid on board.
* Drills: Participate in drills according to drill matrix.
* HSEQ Activities: Actively take part in HSEQ meetings and programs, Non-conformities reporting etc.
Personal
* Certificates: Ensure STCW required certificates, HSE certificates, annual medical, required vaccination and other applicable and Company required certificates are valid at all time.
* HSEQ & Maritime Courses and seminars: Attend as required by the Company
