Qualifications And Experience: Electrical engineering certificate. Minimum 2 years experience required. Relevant experience on respective vessel types to be considered as an advantage.

Reporting To The Position: -

Administration

* To log weekly readings for bridge/radio room, engine room, emergency diesel battery.

* Handover for next shift

Operation

* According to Chief Engineer Standing Orders

* Daily supervision of all electric and electronic machinery equipment including, but not limited to, earth faults, lightening, battery chargers, fans, air-condition, instrument lights, engine preheats on FRC.

* If any doubt, call chief engineer.

* Entire vessels high and low voltages systems, power supplies and electric drives for machinery including the ships power supply units to the Instrument room.

* Maintain and update files for electrical spare parts in stock.

* Responsible for repair and checks of electric hand tools and extension cables.

* Damaged cables to be repaired, or taken out of use at once.

Maintenance

* Carry out all planned and unplanned maintenance on electronic- and electric equipment.

* Cleaning of all switchboards, starter units, switchboard when required.

* Keep the chief engineer informed regards to electrical spare parts and electrical consumables/ stores.

* Prepare suggestion for ordering of electrical spare parts/ consumables/ stores to the chief engineer.

* To log consumption and spare parts in log for this purpose.

* Good housekeeping in Electrical Workshop and Stores and that the spare parts are kept properly stored and secured to avoid damage by humidity, corrosion or the ships movements in the sea.

HSEQ

* HSEQ system: Comply fully the requirements in the Company’s HSEQ system, national as well as internationals rules and legislation’s and other precautions currently valid on board.

* Drills: Participate in drills according to drill matrix.

* HSEQ Activities: Actively take part in HSEQ meetings and programs, Non-conformities reporting etc.

Personal

* Certificates: Ensure STCW required certificates, HSE certificates, annual medical, required vaccination and other applicable and Company required certificates are valid at all time.

* HSEQ & Maritime Courses and seminars: Attend as required by the Company

Emergency procedure

Duty according to mustering list and emergency plan.
