Qualifications And Experience: Minimum 2 years experience as a Bosun. Relevant experience on respective vessel types to be considered as an advantage.

Reporting To The Position: -

The Bosun is responsible for good maintenance, housekeeping, orderliness and cleanliness all over the vessel. The Bosun shall active participate in the daily work and routines on board, including distributing jobs and supervising deck crew according to scheduled maintenance plan and/or unplanned required tasks.

Carry out Bosun’s duties in line with International standards lay down in IMO’s rules and legislations and according to “Good seamanship”

Administration

* Inform your supervisor about spare parts consumed and new requirements of supplies.

* Keep the Chemical locker tidy and in order as described in the Company’s procedure. Store all Chemicals according to IMDG requirements.

* Keep the Paint store and other deck stores tidy and in orderliness. Maintain “Paint Manual” and “Chemical Manual”.

Operation

* Execute the day’s work order according to the planned maintenance program or as directed.

* Any irregularities and deficiencies found to be reported to your supervisor.

* Ensure everything is secured and the ship seaworthy at all times

* Ensure the MOB-boat is kept in order and ready for use as described in MOB- boat checklists.

* Ensure AB`s and OS use correct PPE and PTW / RA

Maintenance

* Supervise the deck crew in jobs according to “Maintenance and Spare Program”

* Active participate in daily work and routines on board

* Receive and execute the day’s work order according to the planned maintenance program or as directed. Unplanned tasks to be carried out as instructed and found necessary.

* Any irregularities and deficiencies found to be reported to your supervisor.

* Use of Chemicals: Inform the users and follow carefully MDSS for relevant chemical.

HSEQ

* HSEQ system: Comply fully the requirements in the Company’s HSEQ system, national as well as internationals rules and legislation’s and other precautions currently valid on board.

* Drills: Participate in drills according to drill matrix.

* HSEQ Activities: Actively take part in HSEQ meetings and programs, Non-conformities reporting etc. Bosun to actively use Risk Assessments and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) in conjunction with the use of chemicals.

Personal

* Certificates: Ensure STCW required certificates, HSE certificates, annual medical, required vaccination and other applicable and Company required certificates are valid at all time.

* HSEQ & Maritime Courses and seminars: Attend as required by the Company

Emergency procedure

Duty according to mustering list and emergency plan.
