Main Tasks
Responsible for configuring, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the seismic acquisition systems and equipment related to the acquisition system. Together with the Gun Chief Mechanic plan for safe and timely execution of surveys ensuring that the acquisition specs are achieved.
Advises the Chief Mechanic on non-routine situations:
* Contributes to technical analysis, fault reporting, work lists
* Contributes to stock management and ordering
* Configures, operates and maintains:
* Recording systems and ancillary equipment;
* Source controllers and ancillary equipment;
* Ensures that real-time seismic acquisition is compliant with projrct defined technical standards, procedures, and contractual requirements.
* Proposes and implements crew and company working instructions.
* Provides information to the client about seismic acquisition issues upon request.
* Promote, and ensure adherence to, all relevant safety policies and procedures
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering/Technology.
* Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
* Excellent Microsoft office skills
* Automation experience preferred
* Linux and Network experience preferred
* Experience on previous seismic operation
* A strong awareness and commitment to QHSE.
* Ability to organize, supervise and motivate co-workers. Good command of English, both written and oral.
